Volunteer Executive Board
Humanitarian Wave was founded in early 2006 by Maja Muric and Yanaris Nieves after their visit to the small fishing village of La Majahua in Mexico. This visit was the spark that led to the creation of Humanitarian Wave and our goal to have a direct, meaningful impact in the lives of children and adults living in impoverished communities.
The fusion of volunteers in the U.S. and abroad with our small staff is the heart of our organization. Our creative and entrepreneurial forces combined with our compassion and determination are a key to our innovative ways of finding and implementing solutions to improve socio-economic and human development of our communities.
